About Geraldine
Geraldine is a graduate of the Meiji College of Oriental Medicine, now the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College (AIMC), in Berkeley, California and is a licensed acupuncturist by the State of California.
Originally from Galway, Ireland, Geraldine lived in a home that welcomed students during the school year and tourists in the summer. The opportunity to grow up with many different people, listening to their unique stories, contributes to Geraldine’s openness with diverse clients and ability to making them feel at ease.
Geraldine worked as an Analytical Chemist and became interested in acupuncture after finding herself no longer satisfied in her work. Suffering from a repetitive stress injury (brought about by her dissatisfaction at work) and the tragedy of September 11th she sought a new direction.
After discovering rigorous scientific studies showing the efficacy of acupuncture and witnessing the benefits her mother experienced from acupuncture while dealing with a serious illness, Geraldine sought and experienced the benefits of acupuncture for herself. She soon enrolled at AIMC to begin her career in acupuncture.
With her science background and passion for learning, Geraldine combines a Western perspective to the Eastern practice of acupuncture and herbal medicine. She is actively interested in deepening her knowledge of this medicine and often finds her most valuable learning comes from her clients. Geraldine has also trained with Isa Gucciardi at the Anam
Cara Foundation in Depth Hypnosis.
Being of service through a healing practice is important to Geraldine and brings her great satisfaction. To learn more about Geraldine’s approach to acupuncture click
